Students will be admitted to the locker room 10 minutes before class time. Children who are not potty trained must wear swim diapers, that are available for purchase at the ProShop. Children with long hair must wear it pulled back from the face. Parents are welcome to stay and watch swim lessons from the pool lounge or lobby area. Except for the Aqua Tots class, parents are not permitted on the deck. A minimum of four students must be enrolled in order to conduct a class.
Cost: $26 for members; $46 for non-members
Register at any time online, at the front desk or by phone with your credit card. Classes are limited to 10 participants, so early registration is suggested. Classes will be cancelled 48 hours in advance if not enough students register. You will not receive confirmation of your registration. However, if the class is cancelled or if your first choice is full, you will be notified. Please enter two class choices on the registration form.
Aqua Tots - 6 months to 4 years
Parent and child class that introduces children to the pool and helps acclimate them to water. Parents learn how to encourage and coach their children in learning basic swim techniques. Parental involvement is required.
Swim Tots - 3 -and 4 -year-olds only
Children will learn to be comfortable in the water through play and basic swimming skills. This class is held without a parent in the water.
Level 1 - Introduction to Water Skills
Children should be comfortable in the water and not afraid to put their entire face in the water. They will learn to float on their back and front, and swim on their back and front using arm and leg actions.
Level 2 - Fundamental Aquatic Skills
Children will swim on their front and back using combined strokes and will also learn how to tread water.
Level 3 - Stroke Readiness
Children should be able to swim the front and back crawl and elementary backstroke. They will learn the butterfly kick and body motion and also perform the H.E.L.P. and Huddle positions. Safe diving will be introduced.
Level 4 - Stroke Improvement
Students will develop confidence in their strokes and improve their endurance in swimming the front and back crawl, breaststroke, butterfly and elementary backstroke.
Level 5 - Stroke Refinement
This level provides further coordination and refinement of strokes. Flip turns will be learned along with multiple diving techniques and treading water wth two different kicks.
Level 6 - Swimming and Skill Proficiency
This level has a menu of options that focus on preparing students to participate in more advanced swimming courses, including the WSI and Lifeguard courses. These options include: Personal Water Safety, Lifeguard Readiness and Fitness Swimmer.
Private Swim Lessons for Youth and Adults
Cost: $12 per half-hour lesson for members; $20 per half-hour lesson plus admission fee for non-members.
